Lots Going On

Posted by Scott Foster on

It’s fall and it’s on! Here comes a bunch of commercials for stuff we’re working on. And there’s plenty for you to plug into! Ready? Let’s go!

Come support Hatchet Jack this Saturday at 2pm at the Museum of Early Trades and Crafts on Main Street. Some of our worship team players—Val, Anna, Patrick, Andy, and their friend Doug are also a rock and blues band! Join us to hear them rock out this Saturday afternoon!

This Sunday is the first of our 8-week deep dive bible studies—this time, Old Testament! 8:45am in the Parlor! Childcare provided. There’s reading to do to be ready and there’s a workbook, too! I’ll have a couple extra books this Sunday. Here’s what to read this week: Genesis 1-3, Leviticus 16-20, Proverbs 14-17, Jeremiah 1 & 2, Song of Songs (Solomon) 1-4. Read those and you’ll be prepared for the conversation. This is a great and very concentrated study! We'll do New Testament in the spring.

If you’re new to PCM, this Sunday after church we’re going to roll through the “No-strings-attached New Member Class.”  Come join the “Presbyterian” conversation! We’ll answer all your questions—come find out what it’s all about! We’ve got you! We’ll meet in the Parlor after church. Childcare provided! 90 mins max—hard stop at 1pm so you can get out to lunch. Everybody in our church is at a different place on this journey so relax about “where you are with all this” and come bring your questions.

Bottle Hill Day is coming fast—Saturday, October 5, starting at 11am on the PCM lawn! This is our #1 community outreach effort and PCM is the family destination for Bottle Hill Day.

Bring your pets for the Blessing of the Animals at 12noon on the Sanctuary porch!

Bottle Hill Day is a huge celebration of Madison—the #1 place to live in New Jersey!

We are offering up the petting zoo and pony rides and the kids LOVE it! It’s so much fun! And this is why we always say it’s “all hands on deck!” We need your help to make it work!

We need 6 10x10 picnic tents/canopies to shade the animals for the petting zoo. Can we use yours? Email Patrick.

Sign up to volunteer at Bottle Hill Day here on Breeze!

If you’re not in Breeze, email Cathy to get unlocked!

And there are plenty of other ways you can help. Set-up, tear down, sell pony ride tickets, pass out water and lemonade. Just be there! We’ve got 30-minute slots to fill from 10am to 4:30. Plenty to fit your schedule that day. Come and hang out with us!

Join us after church on Sunday, October 6 (World Communion Sunday) for a short special congregational meeting to elect members to the nominating committee. A change to the Presbyterian Book of Order specifies that the Congregation Nominating Committee shall consist of a majority of non-session members of the congregation. Our current nominating committee will present a slate of new nominating committee members that the congregation must approve. No other congregational business may be conducted at this meeting.

Finally, how can you help? You can join our worship team if you want to play, read, sing, ring bells—no judging allowed! Come make a joyful noise with us every Sunday. Email , , or for details.

To see lives transformed, families strengthened, and our community renewed through intentional relationship with Jesus Christ.

That’s our PCM church vision and all this is how it plays out on the street in real time—right here, right now! Come live into the vision.

Grace and Peace,
Scott
